About the Instructor:
Jane Brocato
I have been teaching Manners Classes for children and teens a little over 4 years. I am the mother of 3 grown boys, and my training really began with raising them. After 10 years in the retail business and watching roles shift, technology change the world and our children's activities take precedent over the nighttime meal I could not just stand-by and be a silent observer. I have learned a great deal over the past few years- I really care about these young people. They are faced with tough decisions every day, at younger and younger ages. I believe if they have a firm foundation from parents and that foundaton is positively reinforced by others, then they will grow up with the self-confidence needed to achieve their life goals. Further, they will have a true understanding of why treating others with the utmost respect is so important.
After spending a year researching the subject of Manners, developing a resource library and gathering materials for various activities, I received a certificate of training for ages 4 through senior high from The International School of Protocol, Baltimore, MD. Every year I return for extended training, and continue to research different materials for classes when I am not teaching.
My hope is that your child has a wonderful experience at my camp- that means that the campers have so much fun learning that they retain what they learn. These won't be new concepts because you as parents have already laid the foundation. I'll just be reinforcing what they have learned from you.
Thank you for entrusting them to me. I look forward to getting to know them all.
